Q: I have a 30” tire to mount. Will this be big enough to mount the spare?
A: You will want to measure the depth of your bed; I believe the Defender is 12" Deep. the spare tire mount is adjustable to a max of about 4.5" above the bed. You shouldn't have any problem but measure the depth to be sure. If you look the picture on the product page you can see the adjustment is all the way down. That tire is 27" and you can see there is plenty of adjustment to go up to 30".
Q: Does the mount have to be installed where it is located in the pictures? I have a toolbox behind the cab of my defender that would interfere with the spare tire.
A: You can move the mount to other anchors points on your bed as long as you have room for the tire to clear.
Q: Once the spare tire mount is on the Defender and the spare tire in place can the whole assembly be removed by a thief, other than removing spare first?
Thanks and have a great day!
A: The short answer is yes but you can also remove the entire assembly and put the Spare Tire Mount and wheel/tire away in your vehicle so it's not exposed to thieves. Nearly all of our products easily remove with no tools so it's easy to stow them away.
Q: I've seen a similar hornet Outdoors mount for a Polaris ranger. Noe are show here, is it still available?
A: Yes . If you go in the search bar and search for R-800 ST it will come up. You can also find it in Ranger Accessories.
