Q: does the rack simply set in existing holes in cargo bed? Is hardware required to mount? Does it "lock in"- i.e. could it bounce out? Thanks

A: the rack capacity is 300 lbs. The plastic bed on the ranger is not nearly as strong as the rack however so you should use common sense when loading it.

The Cargo Rack comes with Hornet Twist Lock anchors (2). The anchors insert in to the bed holes on your Ranger. When you tighten them the anchor expands in the hole and it's tight! The rack won't bounce out. The rack comes with 2 anchors but the base is drilled with 2 more holes so, if you want to add 2 more anchors you can certainly do that. On my Ranger I use the two anchors that came with it and it's solid.
