Q: Concerning the U-4100-S2 swing-away spare tire mount 1. What are its dimensions? 2. How much does it weigh? 3. Do you know whether it will fit a 2009 Honda CR-V? Thanks.

Asked by: Lee Sarver - 9/2/2022
A: Please see the overall dimensions in the description. It weighs roughly 40 lbs. As far as fitment to your CRV, it depends on your receiver. There is 3 different sizes. 1.25", 2" and 2.5". Standard is 2" which this fits. If you have a smaller 1.25" receiver we have an adapter to bring that to 2". That would be product # U-4053. The 2.5" is a new receiver that is on the newer large trucks that we make an adapter for but not needed for your application.

Q: On the swing away that I purchased last April, the plastic headed nut that you screw on by hand that helps secure/stabilize the hitch is cracking. Possibly over tightened, but was wondering about a replacement? Are they available? Thanks

Asked by: James E Smith - 11/15/2022
A: By plastic nut I assume you mean the 5/8" nylock. There is no need to over tighten nylocks. I can send you one if you need but any hardware store will have them. 5/8"-11

Q: Will this fit the back of a Tesla Model Y? Thinking of getting a spare tire and would like to hitch the spare tire to this swing away mount.

Asked by: Chinh Pham - 5/8/2023
A: Yes this will fit just fine. Check your hitch receiver to see what size it is. 2" is standard which is what this swing away fits. But if it is smaller then it is 1.25" which we have an adapter for that (U-4053).

Q: When this product (U-4100S) is mounted on my hitch receiver, can I still also tow a trailer? My vehicle is a 2008 Porsche Cayenne (base model) with towing capacity of 7,700 lbs. I understand that my tongue weight capacity may be reduce when this product is mounted. Thanks!

Asked by: Carey - 5/12/2023
A: When the swing away is attached you will not have the ability to tow a trailer as is but we do offer an option that will allow you to do that. U-4052 is what we call a "piggyback". Allows you to tow AND have a hitch spare tire mount.

Q: What size hitch does that slide into? I have a small one on my GMC Terrain

Asked by: Hunter W Goodnight - 1/9/2024
A: This fits a 2" hitch receiver. We have adapters for 1.25" and 2.5" receivers. Those will bring whatever you have to 2". Standard is 2" on most vehicles but some trucks have gone to 2.5" which would be product number U-4054 to bring it to 2" standard.

The 1.25" receiver converting to 2" is U-4053.

Q: Hi, i'm interested in your Truck receiver hitch spare time swing away mount. I have a 2007 Roadtrek van it's on the Chevy 2500 chassis. it currently has a spare tire hitch the swings down to the ground but it is too heavy for me. The van has a centrally located hitch for other things like a bike rack, and the spare hitch bracket is on another hitch receiver to the left of the main hitch, under the left cargo door (driver side). Can this be put in that driver side hitch when closed up? or does it need to be in the center hitch receiver? thank you!
